Boys and Girls Soccer:
Coach Nevin nominated Monica Walker, Senior midfielder, as player of the season for the girls soccer team. He quotes, “ Monica plays all positions on the field, and is always dependable.” Monica, a two year caption is also the lead scorer for the girls team with three goals. She also plays club soccer and coaches a U-8 team. Caption Monica Walker, who not only is a great athlete but she also carries a very challenging academic schedule with 3 AP classes and is undecided on what school she wants to attend, she wants to study nursing and plans to play soccer in college. Walker said “I’m honored to be selected and I want to thank Mr. Nevin and the girls for making my final season so much fun.”
Boys soccer team assistant coach Mark listed Andrew Kelly, senior midfielder as player of the season. Kelly is a caption and a four year varsity player. He is undecided what school he wants to attend. The boys soccer team made it to the second round of play offs, good job boys.
Maddy Worley, senior caption for the girls field hockey team is the athlete of the month for October. Worley plays a midfield position and is a four year varsity player. The one year caption also plays Lacrosse for Ridley High School. Maddy is also in 2 AP courses and is undecided on what college she wants to attend. Maddy does not plan on playing field hockey in college.
Coach and Ridley high school teacher Mr. Sergi proudly named Allie Sage, senior athlete of the month. Allie is a four year varsity member and a two year caption. Allie Sage competes in the singles. Allie is undecided about what college to attend or if she wants to play tennis in college.
After long consideration, Coach Seasons named two members one boy and one girl for athlete of the season. He named Senior Sam Brennen, and Senior Jason Judge. Sam Brennen has the fastest time of 20:10 this year for the 5K. She plans on running cross country in college and said that this years season was so fun and so proud that so many runners came out this year. Jason Judge, a Senior and four year varsity member is glad to be the Athlete of the season. Jason does not plan on running in college.
Mr. Lubus, guidance counselor at Ridley High School and coach of the golf team was more then happy to name James Geiger athlete of the season for the golf team. James Geiger is a senior caption and four year varsity member. Geiger is also a 2 year central league qualify and carries the lowest average score for Ridley golf team. James does not plan on playing golf in college but want to thank Mr. Lubus and the rest of the team for the experience.
Coach Decker was more then agreeable when giving athlete of the month to Senior Brian Sinex. Sinex, a left tackle was just recently injured severely in a game against Upper Darby. He needed surgery on his leg. Sinex is a returning football player after taking a break sophomore and junior year. This is Sinex’s first year on varsity. Brian is also a lacrosse player and wants to play in college. Brian wants to study physical therapy.
