New offense makes strides

By Malik Young ’17
The Ridley Raiders new offense seems is making a big improvement. Last year the Green Raiders went 2-2 and the offense put up about 95 points within the first four games. So far this season the team is 4-0 and has put up 135 points in the first four games. There has been a big improvement in wins and points.

The offense is lead by Coach Scott Green. The unit runs the triple option offense. The offense has many weapons and tricks to utilize to beat and wear down other teams. Last year’s team ended up 7-2 but this year it finished 9-1 and won the Central League championship for a three way tie with Springfield and Marple Newtown, and ranked 77th in Pennsylvania.
“The offense is a lot more dynamic and allows us to use a lot of skilled players and gain a lot of yards,” said senior quarterback Cade Stratton. Offensively it has produced over 1,500 yards rushing and over 20 touchdowns with three players in the top twenty for rushing in the area.
“The offense is going well, the team is improving every week from where we started in camp with the team not knowing this offense,” said offensive coordinator Scott Green.
